Smile

Skye will be 7 weeks this Friday! Wow has time gone by fast. She is starting to smile and make little cooing noises (and it's not gas). Her hair is growing and growing and sometimes a little out of control but still adorable. We had a great week, Grammy was here to visit and we had a few play dates with our cousins, Gracey, Kaden, Maddy, and Mckenna. We are lucky they all live so close!Skye is starting to smile more and more everyday.Skye and her cousin Madison. What cuties!!Grammy loves us so much!!!

Road Trip

This weekend Skye had her first road trip to Santa Maria. It took us 5 hours to get there because of the dreaded Friday traffic in L.A. To our surprise, Skye slept the entire way. We had a great trip. Skye enjoyed being in Grammy's arms almost the entire weekend and she was able to meet her aunt Rachel, uncle Brian(soon to be), and cousins Victoria and Allison. We also had a chance to visit two of my really good friends Summer and Jessica.Skye is 1 month today!!! I can hardly believe it! Her head is getting so much stronger. She can hold it up for a short period of time then it starts to bobble...it's really cute to see. She is also a lot more alert and looks around. On Friday while holding Skye I was packing when I heard a sucking sound. I looked down and Skye was full on sucking her thumb!!! She also did it twice at Grammy's. I wonder if she will be a thumb sucker like her Mommy and Daddy were?? We are enjoying each and every moment with our precious little pumpkin. Hope you enjoy the pictures! Our Little FamilySkye sucking her thumb. She's Here

Our Little bundle of Joy is here! Skye Alyse Cottrell, Born Friday January 4th 2008 at 1:18pm. She weighed 6lbs 4oz, 19.5inches long!Eric and I feel so blessed to have such a precious little person in our lives.

Eric and I got up early (5:00am to be exact) on Thursday morning and arrived at the hospital at 6:30am for my induction. They started me on Cervidil for 12 hours and when they checked me after the 12 hours I was dilated to barley a 1cm. So I got my second dose of Cervidil and an hour later my water ruptured spontaneously. I then was started on Pitocin. After many hours of VERY PAINFUL contractions I got the epidural. (very much recommended for future moms!!) Then at 7:00am the next morning they checked me again and I was dilated to barley a 2. Just a little frustrating and scary because then the words c-section started flying around. They then kicked up the pitocin and within an hour I was dilated to a 4 then 45mins later to 7cm. Yeah we were finally making progress. Eric and my mom were such an amazing support and I was only pushing for about 50mins. I can't begin to describe the overwhelming feeling when they placed her on my chest. Although it was a long long process for Skye to get here it was all worth it and I'd do it again in a heart beat! I couldn't believe how much hair she has, definitley from the Cottrell side!My nurses and Doctors were all amazing!! We were able to come home yesterday which was very nice and my first night was.......well lets just say I'm really tired! Sorry this blog has taken me a little to get posted and emails have been delayed because we are having issues with the mailer demons! Anyway Mom, Dad and Baby Skye are all doing well and adjusting well! Thank you all for your love and support. I'll try to be good to keep everyone posted on our growing little sweet pea!
